Hi there! Thank you for joining the It’s Borrowed family. We want to go over a few things to help you be successful. This guide is for Hosts renting out extras to their Guests.
It’s Borrowed is a mobile app giving you the ability to rent bonus amenities to your guests.
#1: Your guest books your home.
#2: You confirm your booking and send a link to your It’s Borrowed profile. You can list items that you have available in your listing description as well.
#3 Rental requests for your items come through the app which you accept and then arrange the items before the guest arrives. The items are things that you have in inventory or offer items and purchase them via Amazon when your guest requests them.
#4: Store the items away after the guest has used them.
We create this Host guide to help you create your profile and start renting.
Here are some additional guides.
Step 1: Build your It’s Borrowed profile
(or have us do it)
You can post items you currently have in inventory or post items you are willing to purchase when a request comes in. Offerup, Amazon Prime, Play it Again Sports and the Swap Meet are great places to get great items.
Here is a link to a great example profile. Yours can look like this without purchasing any items in advance.
Option #2. Include your profile link in your automated email series to guests. Email the link to yourself first and save it.
Option #3. Include your profile link in your Airbnb “House Manual”. When you send your guest emails through Airbnb, include the House Manual. We have also created a template you can drop in your guest emails, click here for template.
Here is our House Manual.
Option #4. We have partnered with Hostfully, which is an amazing platform to share the specifics of your listing. Cards can be created for It’s Borrowed, House Manual, Arrival/Departure, local hot spots and more. The platform is free for one unit and we have a special arrangement for It’s Borrowed Hosts. Use coupon code “itsborrowed” for 2 free months of Hostfully “Power Host” and “Prime” products.
Step 3: Rent items to your guests
When an item request comes in, Confirm the rental. If you don’t yet own that item, head over to Amazon Prime, Offerup or Play it Again Sports to acquire the item.
Arrange the items for your guests when they arrive or bring them by after your guests have checked in. You may deliver the items to the unit or keep them onsite.
Click the “Item has been returned” button when you verify the return of the items.
Clean and maintain your items as necessary.
Your money is transferred to you via Stripe when the rental is completed.
That completes the process!
